CONVOYS
On the occasion of opening the new Suez Canal for navigation on 06/08/2015 the SCA has decided the following

ARTICLE ONE
Traffic system in the Suez Canal including the new Canal Shall be as follows:

Numbers of convoys: Two convoys

-The Southbound convoy which starts at 0330hrs - direct transit
-The Northbound convoy which starts at 0400hrs - direct transit

PORT SAID - SOUTHBOUND

The Southbound convoy starts at 0330 hrs till about 0800hrs, with arrival limit 2300 hrs As an additional, optional,facility vessels arriving from 23:00 to 23:59 hrs may join the first SB convoy against an additional charge of 5 percent of the canal dues (maximum 12500 SDR) or 10 percent (maximum 25000 SDR) in case of arrival between 00:01 and 00:59 hrs. Vessels arriving after 01:00 hrs may join the SB convoy, against the payment of a surchage equal to 12 percent of the normal transit dues with a maximum of SDR 30.000 if traffic conditions permit.

Arrival time is considered by local authorities time vsl passes

SUEZ - NORTHBOUND

The NB starting at 04:00 hrs until 0830 hrs, with arrival limit 2300 hrs

As an additional, optional,facility vessels arriving from 23:00 to 23:59 hrs may join the first NB convoy against an additional charge of 5 percent of the canal dues (maximum 12500 SDR) or 10 percent (maximum 25000 SDR) in case of arrival between 00:01 and 00:59 hrs. Vessels arriving after 01:00 hrs may join the SB convoy, against the payment of a surchage equal to 12 percent of the normal transit dues with a maximum of SDR 30.000 if traffic conditions permit.
